Introduction: I have experience working with special-needs children and adults in both lessons and fitness! I am flexible and personable and am always willing to listen to a student's needs and fear and above all, I'm looking forward to having fun with my students! I LOVE incorporating superheroes, princesses, cartoon characters, animals, or anything else your child may enjoy in order to help the skill understanding process and UP THE FUN!! I believe that swim lessons can change lives in so many different aspects, and I strive to always help my students achieve what they set out to do! I love helping children and adults of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities achieve their swimming-related goals, whether it's getting over a fear, learning the basics, fitness swimming, or just wanting to become comfortable in the water for an upcoming beach trip! The smile on a person who just swam for the first time is PRICELESS! I have worked over the years with children and adults of all ages in various mediums of health and fitness promotion and education and have found swimming lessons in particular to be a huge passion of mine. I began teaching lessons in college as a co-instructor for the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program at Texas Tech University and after graduating, began working for the city of Dallas as a part-time swim instructor offering group and private lessons. I have helped many adults overcome lifelong fear of water and have sent them on their merry swimming way to beach vacations or water aerobics classes or lap swimming hours at their local pools! With children, some days I'm a miracle worker, and some days it takes a little bit of work, but I enjoy all of the in-between moments with the little ones! I enjoy working with children and love to let my silly personality shine through, helping the little ones become comfortable in the water and ultimately attaining a life-saving skill :) With my special silly approach, I relate every swimming technique to something the child can understand and therefore make it easier and more comfortable for them. I enjoy bringing joy to their lives as they learn a new skill!
