- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been fashion obsessed since the age of 3 thanks to my sweet Memaw- she is a woman of true class and impeccable taste. She and I would spend our weekday afternoons shopping and eating ice cream...I've been hooked on both ever since. I learned young how to mix patterns, layer colors, and improvise according to my mood. She taught me that every lady should dress for her personality and wear what makes her feel radiant. I see a 'character' in each of my clients and I love finding the signature style that speaks to that character. Whether you prefer to live in yoga pants or tailored skirt suits, I would love to join you on your style journey.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Of course it is important to find a Fashion Consultant with a great eye for style.. But more importantly, be sure you find a professional who understands what will look great on your figure. Point out your favorite features, as well as any bits you would prefer to conceal. Your stylist should communicate his/her vision for you, based on your personal goals to help you find amazing looks that you never would have chosen for yourself. It is helpful to pass along styles you love from magazines or online. Let your stylist know what your day-to-day life is like (even if you are just searching for a special occasion/formal look) so he/she can better determine what you may be most comfortable wearing.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Show your potential stylist a few favorite pieces from your closet to give him/her a better idea of your personal style. Ask how they would build around those pieces to create totally new looks. A great consultant will help you think outside the box and give creative tips on how to diversify your style with items you already love. This is a fun way to get his/her take on fashion and get the ball rolling in the right direction.
