FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is as follows. Murals (outside or inside) prices are based on linear feet. That is calculated by adding the width and height, then multiplying it by $78. This provides a consistent pricing model for both small and larger murals. Square foot model tends to distort the pricing when going too small or too large creating an issue of different price points for different size ranges to create a more even pricing structure. Oil Paintings (on canvas or wood panel) prices are based on linear inch. That is calculated by adding the width and height, then multiplying it by $25. Illustrations: Negotiable based on the type of project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I accept commissions through emails or phone call, and then sometimes schedule a meeting at a coffee shop to discuss the concept, or if it is a mural I meet them at the site of the mural to take measurements as well. After concept and sizes are discussed I send an invoice of how much the project will cost. From there I send a contract and then I start on the project upon an agreed start date. Progress shots of commissioned paintings are offered to clients that would like to see how the painting is progressing. Upon completion, I offer to deliver the painting to the client's home in person.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am primarily a self-taught artist that has learned from on the job type of experience as well as online courses from The Drawing Academy, Lynda.com, and ArtSchoolVideos.com.
