Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a therapist that specializes in marital/family conflict, adolescent issues, substance abuse, and Christian counseling. I have helped several clients overcome issues with low self esteem/self worth, codependency, anger/stress management, grief, parenting, abuse, & more. I take pride in using a systemic point of view in order to help my clients get to the ROOT of their issues. Instead of staying at the surface and creating a quick fix, I thoroughly enjoy taking the time out to dig deeper with my clients in order to create long lasting solutions.

Shelina truly has a passion for what she does. My husband and I were at each others throats and didn't know how we were going to make our marriage work. She was the first counselor that made BOTH of us feel heard. I had sessions with other counselors prior and I always felt like one of us was being heard more than the other. The male counselor we had was biased towards my husband and the female counselor we had was biased towards me. Shelina was unbiased with us the entire time during treatment and I think that's why it ended up working this time. She's really good and am glad to say that my husband and I are finally communicating better and are finally back to what we were.

Ms. Smith is like no other counselor I've experienced. She is so nonjudgmental and actually listens to you. As a recovering addict, many people don't believe a word I say. But Ms. Smith always welcomed me with open arms and helped me face the issues I was constantly running from. She is patient and never gives up on you, no matter what you've done or where you come from. She has helped me change my life and I am forever grateful.

Our experience with Shelina was very good. She was very understanding and cooperative. She listened to both side of the conversation. She was patient and had a good strategy to tackle our problems. Unfortunately, we have decided to delve into ourselves more before taking further sessions, this is also due to my travel plans offlate. But would definitely recommend her.

Thank you so much Rikesh! I wish you and your wife the best of luck.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Once a client informs me that they want to receive treatment, we schedule an appointment for the intake. The intake is where I do a thorough assessment of the client's history, relationships, and other areas of life that may have led up to the issue at hand. This is also the session where all the necessary paperwork is filled out and we develop goals for treatment. After that, we start treatment by scheduling weekly sessions based on the best day/time for the client.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have counseled people in private practice, hospital, group home, and prison settings. In addition to providing counseling to couples/parents/family units, I have provided individual counseling to children, teens, and young/middle aged adults. I have provided group therapy to clients on several topics including parenting, relapse prevention, substance abuse education, anger management, criminal addictive thinking, family violence, and more.
