    Great job dealing with less than stellar acoustics
    Clegg Sound Associates did an excellent job for my band, The Delta Knights. Dean and his assistant were very professional. We hired Dean and Co. to run sound for a wedding we performed at back in Aug. 2016. This is the third time we utilized Clegg Sound and once again we were very satisfied. They set up an impressively good sound system, which took a lot of pressure off me. They arrived early enough to set up, so they weren't in the way when guests arrived. Dean consulted with me before the event and he was ready for my six-piece band when we arrived. This was a tricky room, as it's very boomy, with lots of wood and glass, so the sound can be hard to control. Dean and his assistant used all their expertise and experience to give excellent sound reinforcement. Dean even made a sound recording at no charge so the client (the groom) could have a keepsake of his college a Capella group's performance at the wedding. I highly recommend Clegg Sound Associates. They are worth the expense, because you get quality service, stellar sound and knowledgeable, experienced technicians.

    Dean's equipment is top of the line, but that is not what makes him stand out. His professionalism, ingenuity, and client interaction skills set him and his team apart from the rest.

25 YEARS in audio production, 20 years as full time company owner and operator. (2) Certificates of appreciation from The White House Communications Agency for services to (2) United States presidents. 2008, 2012 & 2016 Lead AV services company for major presidential candidate campaigns in NH (15) years as Audio system provider for Prescott Park Arts festival, Portsmouth NH
How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a young musician growing up and had a fondness for electronics, sound systems and recording music.
What types of customers have you worked with?
James Taylor, Carol King, Ricky Scaggs, Mel Torme, Gin Blossoms, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Habib Koite, Natalie MacMaster, STOMP, and dozens more Nationally recognized performers. Regional High School and Collegiate Theatrical productions, Rentals and Installations US Presidents: George W. Bush and Barack Obama Hillary Clinton campaign, (2008 &2016) Bernie Sanders campaign, (2016) Regional event planners and production companies Training seminars and events at area hospitals and corporations.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
James Taylor at Emerson Cutler Majestic Theater fall 2016. He came with his full band. Mixing him was a joy. Really great volume and tone in the house, audience was listening acutely.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always hire a company that knows their profession and has your back. Ask for referrals and testimonials. Sound systems do not run on their own and a lack of experience can turn an otherwise great event into a disaster. The company you hire should provide solid, reliable equipment and know how to use it well.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL: What are you planning to use the sound system for? This area may require a lot of detail and best handled with a phone call. If you want a PA system, anyone can quote you a speaker, a mic and cable for $100.00 and you can pick up and drop off. You may not be happy with the result so if that is not what you had in mind then more details are needed. DETAILS help you get the right service at the right price. Success is all about the details. Here are some typical; questions I might ask myself before contacting a sound system or AV provider... How many in attendance? In or Out door? Under a tent? Is there ample electricity for the sound system. Larger systems , (for bands) usually require dedicated power and/or may require a remote power generator. (This area may require more details) What is the schedule for the day/s? (Note that set up time for a band or other performance can be lengthy. e.g. 2-4 hrs, sound check, etc) Have you talked with the band? The band has information that a sound provider needs to send a quote as well as be prepared for your event. If using staging, what size is being provided? Example is 16' wide x 12' deep x 1' high. Ample load in access. Is the event up stairs? Is there an elevator?
