When a deal is NOT a deal. When a handshake means nothing. Estimator John (who is George's son) came to my home, reviewed the scope of the project, and we agreed on price and start date. Granted, it's a small project (asphalt cap and seal), but within half an hour he called back and cancelled the job!! Evidently, he called George who didn't like his agreed upon bid. They used the excuse that I was too particular (their asphalt would abut a new concrete driveway and he could not insure that none of their asphalt materials would stain the new concrete or that they could prevent any damage or cracking of the new concrete). Aren't they professionals? Can't they protect adjacent structures? Like having a painting "professional" agree to paint your walls without protecting your floor or furniture. My advice after this experience--they can't be trusted. When they give you their word, it means nothing. Don't waste your time.

Had nothing to due with the price of the job as George explained to you.Just sometimes you get an inkling not to do a job for a certain person because it would end up being more than a heartache.We have been in business over 35 years and you get to know how to read people and you sir would have been very hard to work for.Good luck
