FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Although we can quote "by the linear foot" to provide a basic approximate cost. There are many things for the homeowner to consider such as obstructions that either need to be removed or cleared, removal & recycling of existing edging product, increasing the size and shape of current garden beds to allow for proper size required for planting of bushes or flowers. We help you design the project before jumping in with measurement and will leave you with some thoughts you might not of considered.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Cardinal Landscape Borders with meet with you and take basic measurements. We want to get an understanding of what curbing you would like but also the complete (future) vision of the landscape desired. Because our curbs are considered permanent, it is important to think about things that might intersect later on. We recommend what profile works best where and provide you numerous color and texture choices. After a no-cost consultation you receive a written estimate for your specific job. Upon approval, we will schedule your installation. We complete most projects in one day but some take up to three. We flag all sprinkler heads and service boxes that are close to our working area. We then spray mark for the new border pattern ,remove existing edging, rocks, grass or mulch, prepare the area properly and start pouring concrete mix into our machines. Once we have completed we'll walk the property with you, remeasure to ensure you are getting the amount you are paying for, and get your approval of a job well done before final payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have had extensive training provided by the manufacture of our equipment. They happen to also have over 16 years history in curbing installation so we have worked hand and hand with them to learn what works, what doesn't and how to install a product that we can stand behind 100%. We also work closely with our product vendors (Martin Marietta, SpecChem, Quikrete) to take advantage of product changes and training.
