FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices vary and are based on the following: - Type if job - Distance to job - Condition of existing surface etc. - Accessability of work area. - Repeat customer? - Other work needed
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to see what the customer needs in person. Trying to provide a quote without seeing the problem is difficult and nearly impossible. So I initially set my bid amount to an hourly rate. Next, I setup a time to meet with the customer at the job site to see and discuss the details with the customer. Finally, I create an accurate and reasonable bid amount as well as a timetable to discuss with the customer. Getting all the details and actually seeing the project has worked well for me in the past.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began repairing homes with my grandfather in the 1960's and continued through college in the 80's. After working as a programmer (Xerox, GD, Lockheed) for 20 years I went back to what I enjoy doing most. Helping people enjoy their homes. I became an on-call supervisorfor BMSCAT (Blackmon Mooring Catastrophe). As a supervisor, buyer, and foreman I received additional training by some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. So my education/training is from supervised hands on experience. I do all jobs myself. For larger jobs, I will use an associate I have worked with in the past.
