Hal is an exceptional instructor who has the learning of the student first and foremost in his mind. This is not some fly-by-night gimmick or quick fix self defense system created to give you a false sense of security while emptying your wallet. Georgia Mountain Krav Maga (GMKM) gives you real time experience and techniques that work irrespective of body type, strength, gender, athleticism, or age. Krav Maga is like CPR. You may not need to use it on a regular basis, but you are absolutely glad to have it when you do! It is well worth the time and investment in an ever changing world. The culture at GMKM is ultimately about being safe, rather than trying to be macho.

No one at GMKM is there to prove anything to anyone. Everyone has a vast array of knowledge that ranges from veteran military and law enforcement to photographers and youth pastors (and everything in between). A lot of the people that attend also have a wide range of experiences in other arts. Every one works together to form a cohesive family that is adamantly focused on making everyone that attends better at defending themselves and helping those around them should the need arise. If you come with an open mind and a willingness to learn, you will walk out of your very first class more capable than when you entered.

This kind of self defense system is unlike any other - it will enable you to quickly learn how to survive any real-world, violent situation. It is easy to learn, applies to everyone, and requires no special conditioning or experience. But it is unlike any other martial arts school - their main focus is on how to do the escapes and techniques in order to assure that you get home safely. The instructors are excellent and many have police and/or military experience. And the main instructor has many years of experience in both Hapkido and Krav Maga so he has seen it all.
