FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing will be determined on a job by job and customer by customer basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I get the required information from the customer on what needs to be done and where. Second, I write up an estimate which I email to my customer. In cases of emergency I can quote over the phone if needed. Third, go to the customers residence or business and complete the work. Fourth, Follow up with the customer to make sure everything is working and the customer is satisfied with the work completed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My first real education in fixing things was working with my uncles on cars, rental properties, and anything that needed to be fixed or done. I was about 10 years old when I started working with them every weekend learning everything I could about working on mechanical, electrical, and other systems. My uncles paid me to help them work on just about anything you can think of. In 1991 I graduated from High School and purchased my first computer which quickly broke due to a virus. I had to take it back to the store to get it fixed. It took at least a week to get the hard disk replaced due to the hard disk being on back order. It was disheartening to spend $4500.00 on a computer only to have it malfunction so soon after puchase! I decided then and there that I would figure out how it worked and fix it myself from then on. I built my next computer myself and the rest is history! I have been a computer and IT technician since 1995 when I worked with people in the industry to learn how to fix issues with just about any computer related equipment. I quickly learned that I had a real gift for working on computers, printers, and solving complex computer problems! I took some college classes on computer operating system repair and eventually worked from home for 2 years for a company named Support.com fixing up to 10 computers at a time through a remote control interface. I quickly ascended the ranks and ended up training newly hired employees on fixing operating systems, helping customers install printers, virus removal, optimizing performance, and customer service. I have fixed everything from a Minibike engine, to a complex telecommunications system for a cellular telecommunications company!
