FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing murals and wall treatments is done generally by the square foot, whereas border designs are priced according to linear feet. However, wall preparedness, level of difficulty, technique in application, accessibility, etc., are all part of the unknown variables that help determine proper pricing. Sometimes a project cannot be priced according to a measurement, so there is a flat 'Day Charge' for those type of projects. All projects accepted require a contract to be signed and a deposit of half down of the contracted total, plus any supply costs before any work begins.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first must see the area I am to paint, so that I can give an honest bid. I need to be fair to you and to myself. Even though some muralists might give a bid site-unseen, I do not. Problems always arise when a job site is not properly investigated. So, I will always send you a message requesting a meeting at the proposed project site rather than give you a bid without all the information. Sometimes, photos or video can replace a physical visit and help determine the variables of the job and cost. But still, the bottom line is, I must see what I am agreeing to before I can give a price. My bids are done in an itemized fashion and are easy to navigate and understand as they are clear and simple. There are NO hidden charges or unpleasant cost surprises. My bid is my price to the penny. Change orders outside the contracted services are an extra charge of course, and often can be accommodated. I require half the total job amount down, plus any supply charges (if applicable), before any work begins. Once a contract has been signed and the deposit made, generally samples are then created to help determine the path the project should follow. After the samples have been approved , a date is set to begin work and the work begins. When the project is finished the outstanding balance is due at that time. NOTE: (Restaurants and nightclubs are subjected to half down and a 3/4-finished benchmark where another 25% of the contract total is due, then when totally finished, the final 25% balance is then required.) I photograph and/or video all my work for personal and professional reasons, such as advertising and just showing off. You can expect a clean, happy, high quality artist that is respectful, honest and full of keen ideas.
