I interviewed numerous companies in the Grand Rapids area before selecting Shift to manage my properties, and I have been very satisfied with my decision. Shift really values me as a customer, have provided expertise in buying & managing properties in the area, and have been quick to take care of any issues or concerns I have had. In my experiences working with various property management companies over the years, Shift has been the best. They have been transparent, communicative, and operate with integrity. When you work with SHIFT Property Management, you are working with individuals who are attentive and responsive to the needs of both the property owner and the tenants. There's no "too busy" with SHIFT -- they are always available and have the resources to complete projects in a very timely fashion at competitive rates, whether it's a work request from a tenant or seeing the property through its required Grand Rapids Certificate of Compliance. SHIFT picks up the phone when you call -- that's essential to a business taking itself seriously and understanding the needs of its customers. SHIFT can vet tenants and rent properties -- something not to be taken for granted -- and they can provide property owners with excellent rental rate analysis, too, which is very helpful when adding properties to a real estate portfolio. SHIFT's online portal for reviewing income and expenses is well designed and easy to understand, allowing property owners to see individual line items with back-up documentations (work orders/invoices). Shift is managing several rental properties of ours now, and I have complete confidence in Houston and Sam. They are EXTREMELY detailed-oriented and understand customer service. But customer service cuts both ways ... when a tenant has a maintenance issue at a property, Shift is responsive BOTH to the tenant and the property owner. If you are an out-of-state rental property owner in Grand Rapids, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Shift.

Onboarding is super easy with all electronic signature forms to get things rolling. We can come to you for a property assessment, bid any needed repairs, or get it listed within days.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
The owner, Sam Persons, started in Property Management by volunteering at a local company 1 day/week to learn what he could. After picking up dog poop around an apartment complex for a month he was hired and the rest is history.
