Introduction: Triad Child & Family Counseling is a specialty practice dedicated to providing counseling and consultative services to couples, families, and their children. My practice is focused on family relationships. There are many dynamics to the family system including adult couples, parent(s) – child, and blended family (step parents, step siblings).
Couples Counseling:
There is nothing more painful than to feel uncertain, worried or distrusting in your relationship. These emotions can impact your ability to focus and cause you to feel fearful or panicked at times- wondering will we always be this way or will our relationship survive this. In safe and inviting environment, couples are able to heal from life’s traumas and struggles, and discover together what life has in store for them. Couples counseling enables you to feel heard and seen by one another, to create a new vision for their lives together, and rebuild the trust and connection.
Family Counseling:
Families often are faced with issues and challenges that greatly impact all the members. The goal of family therapy is to renew and maintain the natural family structure and support group with an emphasis on returning the individual to a healthy family and community life. Family counseling can help improve communication, resolve conflict, and improve connections.
Individual Child/ Adolescent Counseling:
All children encounter difficult times during this important stage of life. Separation and divorce, difficulty making friends, or adjusting to changes at school or home are just a few examples of the struggles children face. Some children need more help than others to get through these times. Today’s adolescents are faced with issues that can significantly impact their development into adulthood. Sometimes, adolescents may just need someone outside of their family to discuss the stressors they are dealing with and help them relieve the pressure they feel. For others, they may need to learn skills to help them to cope through this period of life and long after.
I enjoy working with family/couple dynamics. Often family/couple concerns are challenging, however very rewarding when people can go through the process united and learn to heal together. Witnessing the commitment and hard work couples and families invest in each other by starting to rebuild the love and close relationship is a feeling of accomplishment.
