FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am licensed by the state of Florida, which means I went through a pretty rigorous qualifying process of have the appropriate experience, passing all three parts of the exam, and passing the background check the state requires.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born into it, my father and grandfather have been in construction their entire lives, so growing up we were always building something or helping someone out on the weekend with a project. So as I got older and deciding what I wanted to do in life it just sort of came naturally.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your homework! Just like anything there are a lot of great people in the trades who do great work and then there are people who don’t. Make sure the company you hire is licensed, insured not only for general liability but also for their employees. The issue if they are not is if someone does happen to get hurt, and in construction it is inevitable, the homeowner could be liable for it. Also look around, yelp, google, BBB, DBPR, and other sites and see what people have to say about the company. Chances are if they have wronged someone, the internet will know.
