FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process varies slightly depending on whether I'm doing design work or illustration work. But generally speaking, I first like to email or talk over the phone with the client to get a better sense of their project. If necessary, I will have them fill out a quick questionnaire to better assist in defining their project needs. Once I feel I have a grasp on what the client is looking for, I send a project proposal outlining the requirements, deadlines, and fees for the project. Then the fun part begins! I like to concept and sketch out ideas, narrowing them down to the most effective solutions to be sent to the client for feedback. After client feedback, I design and implement the necessary changes. Although each project is different, I like to budget for three sets of revisions so that the client has plenty of opportunity to refine their ideas. Once the designs are finalized, I send an invoice to the client, followed by all required print-ready or web-ready graphics.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a BFA in graphic design from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Since graduating from college, I've continued to take drawing and painting classes so that I can keep my fine art skills in good shape.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of clients -- from brides-to-be, to small startup companies, to nonprofit organizations, to Fortune 500 companies. I most enjoy small scale projects with individuals who feel invested in the outcome of the work. It's no secret that passion is a key ingredient when creating quality work -- passion from the designer, as well as the client!
