Introduction: I provide tutoring services to people of all ages, from children who are just starting school to adults who are returning to school. Having earned a bachelors degree in English (with a concentration in writing) from the University of Illinois, I can also offer writing and editing assistance of all kinds, from something as small as composing an email to something as big as a college term paper. I understand that working with a tutor - especially if it's a new experience - can sometimes feel awkward or intimidating. For that reason I am always willing to meet potential students (and their parent or guardian for those under 18) at a location of their choice before any commitment is made. If and when you feel that I am 'the right man for the job,' we can then set up a meeting schedule and come up with some goals/objectives so that we both have a way to determine if satisfactory progress is being made. Tutoring can take place wherever is most comfortable for you or your child, provided it is reasonably distraction-free. I love working one on one with both adults and children so that I can provide them with the focus and attention that is often necessary for them to reach their full potential. I strive to provide my students with skills and strategies that will be of use not only during the time we work together but for many years to come.
