We have a treadmill that wasn't working when we bought it (used, so we couldn't return it). It was recommended to us that we change out a particular part. Hometown Handyman came in, and instead of just replacing the part as requested, he dug into the problem and discovered the root cause, saving us hundreds of dollars. Our treadmill works great now, and I couldn't be happier!

I hired Hometown Handy Man, but I didn’t get who I originally spoke with. I made an appointment for a call the next morning after being connected with Hometown Handyman. I called at the scheduled time and got no answer. I left a message and still no return call (this was the first hint to look for someone else, but I didn’t). Finally, I reached out again and got a response. However, now they claimed that the quote they gave has now increased. After a bunch of back and forth, they agree to honor the original quote since they were unreachable. I booked over a month in advance. Three days before the move, I reach out again asking about their arrival time on the move date. He says that someone from “the office” will call me. A young lady did call me the next day and it was the first time she had heard of the move. She sent me paperwork that included a quote that I signed and agreed with. The young men that arrived to do the move were great... on time and worked the entire time. The move took 1 1/2 hrs but there was a contract minimum of 3 hrs, no problem. Wrong! When it came time to pay, they wanted $100 more than the contract! I couldn’t understand why; I didn’t go over the time... I was actually giving them an entire hour for free. They said the transportation on the contract was incorrect. They claimed they needed an hour in transportation at the hourly rate. After another back and forth for them to honor their written contract, they finally did and acted as if they were doing me a favor. The female supervisor over the phone was not polite. No one ever said thank you for your business. Be very weary when using this company. Buyer beware. They will jack the price up any chance they get.

Needed help unloading a 20 ft moving truck. Two men were sent who worked diligently and got the job done in less than time allotted. I will recommend Hometown Handyman services as affordable, efficient and reliable.

I am in Ohio and I was looking into moving options for my son and his wife in Missouri. They were moving over 800 miles east. My search turned up Thumbtack and I took a few minutes to fill out their form. I received 3 answers - one quote was way higher than I was looking for. One wanted more info. Jim Pond's quote was reasonable, but I hoped for lower. He contacted me, set up a time to see my son's place, and gave us a lower quote. He was helpful as he walked through my son's place and explained how things would work best. The move went smoothly - grateful! I highly recommend his service!
