Qualifications:
• Certified to instruct Tai Chi from Dr. Jianping Guo.
• Over 400 hours of private instruction from Master Guo:
• Head Coach of free combat and karate at Hunan
Normal University in China.
• Director of the Chinese University Students
Karate Coach Association.
• Guo’s students have won over 20 gold medals in
numerous international competitions.
• Invited to perform Tai Chi 24 Form Yang family style at 2015 Chinese New Year Festival
Wesley Foundation Gala sponsored by Confucius Institute at Western Michigan
University.
• Taught Tai Chi for City of Kalamazoo youth program 2015, County of Kalamazoo Youth
Offender Transition Program 2015.
• Continues teaching organizations, private and group lessons to current day.
Examining what the people uphold as the essentials of Tai Chi. There are relaxed movement, natural breathing, avoidance of clumsy effort, the refining of essence, energy, and spirit, and getting body and mind to merge into one. Every Tai Chi movement conforms to both science and spirituality.
Tai Chi has the energies of sticking and neutralizing, the special skills of controlling, seizing, capturing, and sealing, and the subtlety of changing flow, all of which are things that other styles lack. This gives the opportunity to learn an ancient martial art with an emphasis on peace, balance and self-control.
