Ryan is a wonderful Taichi instructor and person. I had him for Taichi class for almost two years now. He knows his stuff very well, he often tells us the interesting stories about Taichi and Chinese culture. From my experiences, he is really good at authentic Tai Chi--both advanced moves and philosophies. His personality is fun, extremely clear and caring. The handouts of Taichi theory are very interesting to read. He will help you with anything about Taichi and Qigong. His class starts with Qigong breath and stretch, which involve certain postures and gentle movements with mental focus, breathing, and relaxation. It really helps me to get ready for Taichi. I like that it's the complete 24 forms broken down into each part that I feel confident in learning Tai Chi properly. It is very helpful in co-ordination my hand and arm movements with my steps. He takes a lot of time explaining and demonstrating each part of forms. He gives a clear and detailed explanation of every movement, and the application of martial art. The movements can be adapted or practiced while walking, standing, or sitting. In contrast to qi gong, tai chi movements, if practiced quickly, can be a form of combat and self-defense. He is the greatest Taichi instructor; I will continue Taichi class with him to reduce my back pain, and also improve my balance and stability. For me, It is really improve the quality of my life and mood.
