FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everything I do is on an hourly basis. This has shown itself to be the fairest system for the homeowner. Many jobs take on modifications to work orders after the job is started. If that job is priced out as a whole, then the price has to be renegotiated. i don't want to make homeowners feel they cannot change their minds. After all, it's your home! Also, from time to time, homeowners experience various types of unexpected financial needs and work has to be reduced or stopped on a project for a time. Under this kind of circumstance, its much easier for the homeowner to know exactly how much money is owed on a project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
i will arrange a time with my new customer to come see the job in person and discuss the customer's desires for the project. following this, I compose a document that describes the work to be done, my suggestions, factors to consider, etc. I also give an estimation of the time necessary to complete the job, as described. If any modifications need to be made to this document, i work with the customer to ensure the job description is accurate. once the customer agrees to the description, the only thing left is scheduling the work to be done.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask lots of questions. Communicate a lot with your service provider. if he or she is turned off by this, you may want to consider whether they really have your best interest at heart.
