- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with each customer in whatever way is most convenient to them and discuss their needs and expectations, including the audience, schedule, and budget for their project. If I have offered an hourly fee, I can do a paid sample so that I can provide an estimate for the entire project and so the customer can see what kind of support they will receive before moving forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education includes a BA in English Literature from Baylor University along with an MA in Humanities as well as a Master's in Busines Administration.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was in college, I was constantly being asked by friends to review and edit their papers. Then when I went to work, I did the same for my co-workers. Eventually, I landed a technical writing position, and that led to a management position for a group of technical writers, graphic artists, and other support personnel.
