Listen carefully and ask for a lot of details, the Pro should be able to make you feel comfortable since the beginning by answering all your questions or concerns. Remember, cheap price at the begining doesn't mean cheap price at the end. Many "Pros" give a 30% to 50% lower price at the begining, beating all the actual Pros. But, during the project they add stuff that sometimes is not necessary so they can get what the actual project costs
