What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For tile and other hard surfaces prices are calculated by the square footage, usually ranging from .25 to .45 per square foot. For carpets prices are calculated on square footage. We usually charge in between 17 to 25 cents/square foot. Items that we consider are the following: 1. How dirty the carpet ? 2. Type of carpet. 3. The total amount of square footage. 4. Time of year. (January might be different than May)
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Family business. My dad still cleans in Central Iowa. My children have helped me since we started over 15 years ago.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. From hotel owners, bank managers, churches, residential, and property managers. I have seen it all!
