Brandon started out the project eager to work, but I soon learned that he was not experienced in this type of work (insulation, sheetrock, tape and bedding, and texture). Brandon actually called a more experienced handyman to take the contract, and decided to work as a subcontractor to this individual.
Brandon was visibly frustrated and insecure about his skills in this field at the start. He was unable to point us to the correct materials to purchase, did not have experience installing insulation, worked very slowly on sheetrock installation, and did not do a good job at tape and bedding.
Moreover, Brandon was openly frustrated with his manager and was clearly unhappy in performing this service. This project that was estimated to take 4 days, is currently on day 7 (and counting). Brandon did not show up for work one entire day, with his excuse being that he needed to take his child trick-or-treating. Another day, he was supposed to show up at 9 am and showed up closer to 1 pm. He also had to leave early one day due to a childcare issue.
In the end, Brandon decided to walk off the job. I believe this was a very frustrating experience for both Brandon and myself. I'm sorry to say I wouldn't hire him again or recommend him for this type of work.
I hope he is able to market himself for work which he is actually qualified and experienced to do, and is able to separate his personal life from his work life.
I originally hired Brandon due to his 5-star rating, but now I suspect that these ratings are false (maybe from family or friends), as I have had a very stressful and frustrating experience.
