Wow there's a lot that I enjoy about my work. Helping people free themselves from the frustration and pain of emotional distress is awesome. People often use therapy as a last resort, so by the time they get to me they are exhausted! So to help others restore joy and balance is extremely fulfilling.
Many of my clients are Christian and choose to incorporate their faith into their treatment. Being Christian myself it's especially exciting to help others explore and/or utilize their faith.
I also enjoy working with couples. I've had good success using techniques from Gottman's Couples Therapy . What could be better than helping couples increase love, passion, and friendship? I had a client give me a note from her 11 y/o son. It simply said "Thank you Ms Julie for helping my momma and daddy like each other again". Needless to say, I was the one hugging the box of Kleenex that session!
