Introduction: I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in New London, Connecticut. I serve all of New England and am available for destination weddings as well. Do you love the vintage, classic look of film? I offer an add-on option of 35mm film, in both color and black and white. I love getting to know my couples, and capturing the little things and special moments in their wedding day that are truly unique to their story. As a Professional Bridal Consultant, I know the importance of hiring not just a reliable photographer to capture the once in a lifetime moments that will happen during a wedding, but also the importance of hiring one with an eye for detail, for style, and for composition. I have found Allie Dearie to be all of those - reliable, detail-oriented, stylish, and an amazing artist in the composition of photos. I particularly remember a Christmas Eve day wedding reception that I worked with her on. Her artistic eye and creative approach captured many of the holiday wedding decorations from angles and views that I had not thought of both as closeups and entire roomscapes. A lot of work went into the setup of this particular wedding. And Allie captured it all in exquisite detail and got every picture I asked for. My “Last-Minute-Mary” daughter just happened to mention that she needed HS Senior portraits that were due in less than a month! I called my daughter’s art teacher, Mrs. Brubaker, owner at BAY (Barn for Artistic Youth, Niantic, CT) asking who she would recommend. Without hesitation, Mrs. B recommended Allie Dearie. And so with 3 weeks remaining before the portrait due date, Allie had immediately contacted me, spoke with me, summarized her background, & asked all the necessary logistics. My daughter had arranged for her photos be taken at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Facility (Old Lyme, CT) with her favorite horse. It turned out that Allie had much experience photographing horses & in action, & understood their movements & anatomy. The date was set & we met Allie at High Hopes. Upon introductions, I immediately noted that Allie was kind, delightful, professional, & prepared. Plus she hit it off with my daughter. Albeit the weather was a bit cold & overcast, the photo shoot went wonderfully & without a hitch. Within days, we received a link to the website that housed the dozens & dozens of photos to choose from. The photographs, which ranged in a variety of landscapes & horse handling positions, were stunning. We selected a handful & Allie straightaway did the final “touch ups” & contacted us once ready. We could not have been more pleased with the results in addition to Allie’s skills as a photographer. Without any reservation, I would highly recommend Allie as your photographer on any occasion! I called Allie last minute for a large fundraising gala. She was quick to respond and ready to work, offering her skills in photography and videography. I was very happy with the shots and video she provided, which have been published in press releases to Playbill.com and BroadwayWorld, and some prints are featured in company buildings. Her video has also been used in our marketing materials. Our honoree, who is an Emmy/Grammy/Oscar/Tony winner, actually used her photo as his Facebook profile!

I have a B.A. in Graphic Design & Digital Imaging. I am also the Head of Photography at Buck's Rock Performing & Creative Arts Camp in New Milford, CT.
