FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Through experience, we are able to anticipate problems that may occur during the job. We try to keep surprises -- and changes -- to a minimum. Inexperienced and/or unlicensed contractors may start out with a lower price, but often increase it once they've secured the job. We try avoid this so expectations are strong from the start.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a phone call to obtain a general description of the work that is needed. We then visit in person, depending on the type of job. Finally, a written proposal is submitted to the client. If a followup conversation is necessary, we are happy to answer our customers' questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have held a residential contractor's license, for which continuing education has been required. I attend builders shows and conferences which keep me up to date with styles and trends. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, which enables me to use technology in ways that others in the industry can't. I also have specific manufacturer's training.
