Introduction: Our main focus at CDubU Services - Personal and Professional Development is to help our clients reach their full potential, enabling them to present themselves in the most advantageous light to achieve success.
Whether it's via a powerful resume, an impressive cover letter, a blueprint for getting you on the career path you've always wanted or a dynamic approach to bringing about real positive change in your life, these are just some of the tools at our disposal, but our purpose is to empower our clients to become the best that they can be, personally or professionally.
It starts with scheduling a relaxed, in-person meeting at our comfortable and conveniently located midtown Manahattan space at 45th and Fifth Avenue (or if you prefer, we may come to you). Our questions let us explore what the keys to your finding fulfillment, and then we can identify what it will take to get you there.
* Resume Writing
Bringing the benefit of decades of hiring as a senior corporate manager, selecting the most qualified personnel, consultants, and contractors for multi-million dollar projects, and preparing marketing proposals and project team resumes for winning presentations, I'm able to bring an added "zing" to my clients' resumes which set them apart in a pool of talented applicants.
I have 30 years of experience in writing resumes and CVs, perfecting the art of encapsulating a lifetime of learned skills and experience into an effective snapshot representing a client in the most positive light.
I'm known for being able to draw out from my clients' important information from their life's experiences that they hadn't even thought to show on their resume. By making the effort to fully understand our clients' background and history, we can uncover items that can be used to speak directly (and sometimes subtly) to the attributes which potential employers are seeking.
Clients are unanimous in their reviews that I am able to make their resumes capture their unique personalities and make the most use of whatever skills/experience they have in their repertoire to best match them up as an impressive candidate for their target job.
Our highly professional resumes/cover letters set our clients applications apart and get them to that all important employer interview.
* Career Coaching and Life Coaching
Offering career coaching services with CDubU services actually grew out of requests from resume clients for us to extend the support they received in working with us on their resumes. Some time later, we formally added life coaching as a natural extension of this service.
Once again, in-depth exploration with our clients about their preferences/dislikes with their jobs, what for them constitutes a healthy work-life balance, their short and long term goals, and priorities in life and career allows us to then develop a pathway to work towards achieving that ideal.
Let us help you to achieve your goals and realize your full potential!
I really enjoy empowering people to bring about positive change in their professional and personal lives.
I come across a lot with clients who are unhappy with their current field of work, and it's really a great to help them to find their way to a more rewarding career. One aspect of my work that always makes me smile is when I'm able to take a client who's concerned that they don't have a background or experience in the field they'd like to transition into, and give them new confidence and hope after I'm able to sit down with them and uncover a list of transferable skills they DO have, which employers in their target arena are seeking. This is almost as rewarding as when they land that new job!
I had one frantic client contact me one Saturday evening - she'd been referred to me by a former client of mine who's sent many of her friends and associates to me for help. She couldn't take her job a day longer, and didn't have time to meet, so we did a phone interview, I put her resume draft together overnight, and the next day we wrapped up her final version. She was also very concerned about her interviewing skills - over the phone I gave her a few techniques to try as well as instructions on how to deal with a couple of "problem" areas in her work history in an interview, and we resolved to schedule some interview prep sessions subsequently. A week later when I called to follow up with her about scheduling the interview sessions, she told me - "Oh, I already got a job" :) That's a case that always makes me chuckle.
Of course clients in competitive fields tend to do a bit more job hunting, applying and interviewing. My resume clients often get a some career coaching gratis as we're discussing exactly what they'd like their resume to DO :) and many of my clients request that I continue that support through career coaching sessions, and some ask for life coaching help as well. My focus on and training in work life balance considerations and techniques makes these a natural extension for my clients.
My goal with life coaching clients is to build them up - develop a plan for them to take their lives in the direction they want, and work with them to see it implemented. As we do this I give them tools they need to adapt the plan to changing life situations, process and evaluate new circumstances, and get comfortable with making sound decisions as they work towards their life goals. While I make myself available for my clients as long as they ask for my support, unlike many other life coaches, my aim is to make my clients self sufficient and independent so they can confidently grapple with life's challenges while maintaining a balanced center and continuing to strive towards their life goals.
That is perhaps the most enjoyable part of my work - seeing clients who were once struggling under the weight of some serious concerns or issues now being able to confidently step up and tackle those issues positively while continuing to forge ahead towards success in their goals.
