FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My initial consultation is $150 for 90 Minutes. After the consultation, each follow up session for 60 Minutes is $125. I do offer a quick check-in follow up for 30 Minutes and that is $65. At the consultation, I do offer a discount for multiple sessions, or a bundle of sessions. Those prices depend on how many are purchased and the type of training that will be involved since no two programs are alike.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start off with a simple phone consultation to get a better understanding of the needs of the client and to let them know a little bit about myself to make sure I am a right fit for them and their dog. From there, we will do an in-person consultation, which typically last for 90 minutes, but can go up to 2 hours. During the consultation I asses the dog's behavior, his enthusiasm for training, and give helpful advice on how to begin with a training program. At the consultation, I will go over how many lessons and what type of package would be best suited to fit their goals. No two dogs are alike, and neither are my training plans. Every thing I do, it is catered 100% to the client and the dog's needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a strong passion for animal care and training. I began animal training while working with dolphins and other marine mammals. I have worked in various zoos, aquariums, and marine parks throughout the United States. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with and help train not only marine mammals like dolphins, sea lions, and seals, but also large exotic animals such as lions, bears, primates, giraffes, and tigers as well. My deep passion is animal behavior and training, which has now lead me here, to the Big Apple, to focus on giving urban dogs the chance to succeed. I am a CPDT- KA certified trainer, AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, Puppy S.T.A.R. program instructor, and a Family Paws Parent Education presenter. I a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and a member of the International Marine Animal Trainer's Association (IMATA). I am always reading new books, materials, and information on dog behavior and the science to training. I have been to multiple seminars lead by top professionals in the dog training community to keep my skills and knowledge growing.
