FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My typical fee for individual therapy is $185 per session and for couples it's $225. Sometimes people prefer longer sessions or more frequent sessions and my fee is prorated accordingly. It's important to note that many people use their out-of-network benefits to cover some of the cost of therapy. Many plans cover up to 70% of the fee, which greatly reduces the out of pocket expense. I am very experienced in helping people navigate that system and am happy to help since it's important to me that therapy be as accessible as possible!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial contact, I like to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to all new clients. This allows them to get a sense of me, ask me any questions they might have and decide if we'd be a good fit. Likewise, it's helpful for me to learn about what's important to them, how they feel I can help them and to make sure I am able to help them in a way that is going to feel effective for them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have extensive training in psychotherapy. I graduated from Columbia University's School of Social Work with a concentration in clinical work. I then completed a 4 year training program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family to focus on working with couples and families. After that, I continued to pursue postgraduate training by getting training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples). These are the primary ways that I practice today and focus on quick, meaningful therapeutic work to move through difficult emotions, increase relationship connection and promote lasting change.
