FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a FREE no-obligation exploratory phone session, where we discuss the space you want to create and learn if we’re the right match to make it happen in your life. If we decide to work together at your home or office, then it's important to define the method we will use to work together. Will we work together at a distance by phone, with me coaching you each step of the way, or will I travel to you to engage in the tasks with you? I charge the same price for phone consultation or in-person time. For in-person sessions, I ask that we are on-task for a minimum of 3 hours if you're local to me, and 6 hours if you're from further afield. I'm capable of working up to ten hours per day. When travelling to you, we can arrange a regular time each week to chip away at your project consistently, or we can do it in one fell swoop, completing the project in a day or in a number of consecutive days. When we work together in person,we can work on tasks together, side-by-side, or you can delegate tasks to me while you attend to other things. I can do tasks that involve culling, cleaning, sorting, labeling disposing, repairing, and removing on my own once we have set out the parameters of the work. We'll always communicate about what I'm doing, and you'll always be in control of what gets done. My natural rhythm and energy is most conducive to doing a project all in one go. I prefer to work in large chunks of time each day for subsequent days until the project is complete, as I get deeper and more excited by the project as I step more deeply into it. I work quickly and competently, and am able to work up to ten hours per day. If this approach suits your style as well, there are a couple things we'll need to support this work if you live over two hours from Northampton, MA: 1. I'll need overnight lodging accommodations or costs covered (I am happy to sleep in a spare room if you have one). 2. We'll each need meal planning and provisions for the duration of the project. I eat organic vegetarian meals and can eat with you or prepare my own food if given access to a kitchen.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important for me to determine what the client really wants to create in their life, as a space is a physical manifestation of deeper values and desires. We'll begin with a conversation about what is important to you, and learn about what possible challenges or inhibitors might come into play as we begin the process of changing physical space.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an architectural design/builder by training and trade. While I love the design/build process, what fills me with energy is creating optima-use systems in the spaces that people use day-to-day - whether that means changing the flow of the space through furniture re-arrangement, addressing clutter to create enhanced functionality, or creating beauty and harmony in the space with a change to the design. I've been designing interior spaces since I was a child, and have been helping others design and create great spaces since 2006. In 2016, I became a credentialed Transformative Life Coach, and I've learned that my coach training has been hugely beneficial for my organizing clients. I often offer coaching language at the outset to help my clients get clear about what they want to create in their spaces - visioning their homes and offices as physical manifestations of their values. We use the coaching paradigm to develop a relationship of trust and connection so that our time together is productive, effective, and fun! I've noticed that we even use coaching skills when deciding what to keep and let go of.
