- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First is an in-person consultation (if possible, otherwise a FaceTime or Skype call would be fine) where we would discuss music selection, the venue, and of course pricing. After that and before the event I would confirm the music selection and any other details. For the event: I try to set up 2 hours early to make sure I have time to fix anything that goes wrong :)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently studying at UVU in the commercial music program where I am learning about composition and all kinds of commercially produced music and how to produce it myself. I played with the internationally recognized Crescent Super Band on the bari saxophone, where we played at events like Utahs Best of State Awards and Canada's national jazz festival.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided that I wanted to start dj-ing while I was on my mission, although I would love to exclusively play jazz saxophone all the time, I decided I wanted to branch out and experience all kinds of music! I have been helping my good friend DJ wedding receptions and I want to test my hand at it! All in all I've got at least 4 months and probably 6 receptions of experience so far.
