FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My usual rate is two cents per word (not counting front and back matter). I am willing to work within your budget--within reason. :-)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In general, for book writing it starts with developing a working table of contents then using that as a guide for writing the draft. The employer goes over the chapters and makes suggestions/adds, revisions, etc., which I then incorporate into the second (and usually final) draft. For editing, the client sends the manuscript, I edit and proof using Word's tracking feature. Then I send back two files: the revised manuscript and a work copy that shows all edits/fixes marked along with any comments/edit explanations/and suggestions I might have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional author for more than 20 years and have had 80 books published by traditional publishers such as St. Martin's and Simon
