FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tax return pricing depends on complexity, i.e. number of schedules that need to be prepared to attach to the return: Prices start at $230 for 1040 Federal and State tax returns with W2. A couple who own a home, and has dependent children would cost in the range of $250-300. A self-employed business owner's tax prep price would depend on if there are tidy records and a computerized file in an accounting software. If records aren't kept in a software such as Quickbooks, we could provide these services moving forward on a monthly basis to make tax time easier. For $200/month we could post and reconcile 75 transactions. If you prefer to post your own transactions to QuickBooks, we could review and reconcile for $100/month. You will receive financial statements for budgeting and to make smart business decisions. Taxpayers who are in Collections with liens and levies is usually a longer process and a $50 consult fee and a $300 discovery fee would be obtained until the picture becomes clearer when we contact the IRS / State to see how much work is involved to resolve.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Since no 2 customers have the exact same needs, I prefer to have a telephone or face-to-face consult. The initial consultation will help determine what tax years need addressing, if bookkeeping or tax planning is needed and how much work will be involved to correct any prior tax years.
