FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard pricing is as follows: $300 for a one hour photo session and 30-40 edited images. This rate includes family, maternity, newborn, and graduation sessions. Weddings start at $800 for 3 hours of coverage and an engagement session. All images can be accessed in an online album. Prints, announcements, and photo albums come with an additional designing and production fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe that to truly capture remarkable photos of someone, it is important to know a little bit about him and his story. Therefore, I always strive to get to know a little about my customers before I photograph them. This usually happens through either a phone call or in the case of a wedding through an in person meet up and engagement photos. In the phone call, I will ask a customer about his or her interests, hobbies, family, style, personality, and other such things so I can get a little bit more of a sense of who this person is. I also like to know if they have any sample pictures that he or she likes or if he or she has a Pinterest page so I can make sure that I understand the vision the client has for the portraits. From there, we will set a date, sign a contract, talk about payment, and hash out any other details for the photography session.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I loved photography from a young age. I received my first digital camera (a very basic one) when I was 8 years old and from that day on I took pictures of anything and everything. I soon learned that I really enjoyed taking photos of people because of the emotions that could be conveyed and the beauty of each person. In high school, I would take photos of friends for fun and eventually ended up being paid to take the senior photos of a few. From there, my business grew to encompass couples, family, and more solo portraits.
