I specifically wrote that I need a DEEP CLEANING and specified the details in my request. The price quoted was $80. They arrived half hour early and got to work. Because they don't speak English, I couldn't explain that my house had just been renovated and was very dusty, AND, I had recently had two surgeries and could not clean the house myself.....however, I figure one doesn't need to provide a reason for requesting a deep cleaning.
During the cleaning, Rose attempted to tell me that "house very dust...more money...hundred." Okay I told her. Because I had been home sick, I briefly checked a few things only to find the inside of the windows hadn't been dusted. She did them. I simply didn't have energy to check every nook and cranny in the house before I went to pay her. I went to write a check and she said, "cash only." I would have LOVED to know that ahead of time. I handed her $100 bill and she said, "one twenty". Because she doesn't speak English, I couldn't discuss with her that she hadn't informed me that it was cash only and $120. I gave her the money and they left. Later, when I went to bed, I noticed that the head board was loaded with dust, the window sills were loaded with dust, the picture frames - dust, and so on. I asked for a DEEP CLEANING and this was by far not a deep cleaning. I have no problem paying the cost, but I want what I pay for.
I wanted to give this small start-up company a chance. But, I am too sick to micro-manage people I hire.
