Kyle fit us into his schedule within 2 days of our request which was greatly appreciated, as we wanted to have our trees and shrubs trimmed prior to putting down pine straw and mulch (we had 2 other companies cancel last minute). A few days after they finished the work, I received a voice mail from Kristen in which I gave her my e-mail so she could invoice me and told her we appreciated them fitting us in, but wanted to let her know the clean up wasn’t good (even the young man we hired to spread the mulch commented that he thought our landscaper was hiding his trimmings behind our bushes). That being said, I thought I would just mention it for next time and was relieved to finally have it done so quickly . HOWEVER, there will no longer be a next time. This evening I received a voice mail Kyle left in which he was very upset and ranting, saying “he's not sure why he hasn't been paid....if he did such a poor job, we should have let them know. That he has photos of everything he did and that I better call him back immediately explaining why he hasn't been paid and then ended with…..that's all I have to say!!!” I received the invoice from Kristen 2 days ago…on May 25th. Today is May 27th and the work was done early last week. I’ve heard of Net 30 payment terms…even Net 15, but never Net 2! Needless to say, I put through my payment today, but will never use a company that feels it appropriate to treat their clients in such a manner. It was absolutely uncalled for and VERY unprofessional.

We work hard to make sure any work is done with high standards and in a timely fashion. Because we feel communication is vital I am available by phone, email and through the Thumbtack app 7 days a week. It is also our policy to follow up quickly with clients that are not on-site while we are working. This helps to ensure that our clients' expectation are fully met and that details are not missed. Unfortunately in this case we were unable to learn that there was an issue (leaf clippings behind bushes in the beds) until after mulch had been installed covering them. Because of this I discounted our clients' invoice. It is standard in the industry for one-time services to be paid upon completion of the work. Terms of net 15 or net 30 are not generally offered, especially on jobs under $500. Going forward we will make an even more concerted effort to convey to our clients that we are both available and open to their concerns and lawn care needs.

I had Kyle come out to take a look around my yard to have a couple of things done (Sod and tree replacement). In addition to the above Kyle made a few other suggestions from things that he noticed in the yard. After that he and Kristen got me a proposal for the work. The pricing was very fair and I am very pleased with the work they did and impressed with how fast they were able to get to me and get the job done. Its so refreshing to have a company be knowledgeable about what they do and not try to gouge you when they are.
I look forward to having these guys come back and do more work for me soon!
