- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For marketing projects, I prefer to offer flat rate quote because I think it's fairer to the client to have a fixed price that they can count on. For social media retainers, I propose monthly arrangements that cover a set list of services, and may include writing and video production as well as implementation services. For editing and proofreading, I use a per word rate that varies depending on the level of editing required.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For all marketing clients - social media, email, blog, web copywriting - I start with a questionnaire that identifies the target market, key marketing message, and what sets you apart in the marketplace. These are keys to making sure that your marketing is effective. I also help my clients identify where they are in a sales process, so that you can choose the best marketing channel for their efforts.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe that story marketing is the best way to reach your clients in our overcrowded marketplace. I draw upon a Master's in TV/Film, plus 10+ years at a Hollywood film studio, and 10+ years as a copywriter for various clients in industries ranging from higher ed to hospitality to health/fitness and others.
