FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do a lot of developmental editing for my customers. My editing includes thinking about what you are writing and providing comments for inconsistencies and areas that do not flow. While I try to keep pricing consistent, the time and effort that it takes to edit works in various stages of completion varies. I will discuss with you in our initial meeting when I review the original manuscript. I encourage new writers and try to keep my prices fair and non-prohibitive for those on a budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial review of the manuscript gives me an idea of the variables of the editing job. It is important to me to have an initial meeting (via phone or email) with the writer in order to set expectations on both sides of what is to be accomplished and by when.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an Editor or over 15 years in academia, creative literature, and professional information technology. The core of my training and launch of my editing career was born out of my time at University of Virginia working in and with the Creative Writing Program and the Interdisciplinary Studies Program as well as supporting the Department of Defense.
