Fantastic experience all around....taste, value, timeliness, friendliness, and flexibility…all great. From the beginning, Chef Amberly communicated well about our meal choice and even made a suggestion that I hadn't thought to ask for, coq au vin! She brought all the ingredients, her knives, and a few other kitchen utensils that I didn't recognize. The only thing she needed from us was a pan or two which she washed when she was done (thank you!) and our stove of course. Taste is probably the most important part and it was fantastic! It was beyond restaurant quality and the ingredients were much fresher. They had been procured an hour before they were cooked, not days like in a restaurant. Personality might not be important to some people but it is for me. I need to like the people I hire and Chef Amberly was great. She could probably do a cooking show. She even wore her chef's jacket which I thought was a nice touch. Dinner was ready when she said it would be. And she left great reheating instructions for us. I just hope she doesn't find out that we used the microwave the next day (whoops). Value. It's not just about saving you the work. It's an EXPERT saving you the work. It would be like hiring the groundskeeper at Camden Yards to care for your lawn. He's going to do it WAY better than you are.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We bill our chefs' labor at $78 for the first two hours, then $30/hr after that. If you choose our "full service" option, we will do the grocery shopping for a flat $30 fee plus the cost of the ingredients purchased.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our customers' time is priceless. Most personal chefs require a lengthy consultation (or negotiation) just to determine what will be cooked. Most people know what they want. Tell our chefs what to cook and we'll get it done. If do want help deciding, we'd be glad to assist you in finding the right option.
