Introduction: I help the general population attain their personal fitness goals through one-on-one personal training and semi-private training. I start out with a thorough medical and readiness evaluation as well as an assessment. I want to get to know you personally as best I can. I want to know where you are and what you "know your why" so I can come up with the best map personally for you. I have personally been through this whole transformation process myself being overweight and having very low sense of worth or value so I can relate to where you are at mentally, and I want to give you all the support, coaching, and guidance I can through my experience and applied principle based knowledge. I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine for personal training and also corrective exercise. Continual knowledge of fitness, nutrition, mindset, and positive lifestyle habits are at my core values. I train at a private studio in Roseville which makes it a very personable experience with no monthly membership required for the gym itself. If you are ready to take that leap towards a healthier, more fit, and long & fulfilling life, and have an extreme amount of fun while doing it, then I will be your waistline warrior coach! I take great pride in helping people from all walks of life achieve things that they thought would never be possible for them. My clients have said that they love working with me because I am very energetic, empathetic, and do so well adapting to the current needs of my clients. No two people are the same and I understand that every client needs their own personal road map. My clients also like training in a private studio setting since it is a complete "NO JUDGEMENT" zone and they can keep their mindset on their goals rather than how others may be making them feel uncomfortable.

I have been working with Kevin for over two years now. I have gone through a lot of personal growth and reflection through the process of losing nearly 60 pounds. Previously, I always thought I was ready to lose the weight, but in reality I was never ready to commit to the process and make lasting lifelong changes. If you are ready to identify the cause, figure out a long term sustainable solution, and have the biggest healthy living advocate out there in your ball court, you will be more than thrilled to work with Kevin. This is his passion, his calling, and you can feel the difference the moment you meet him. The moment you walk into the gym, he makes you feel as though all things are possible. You can and will accomplish your goals and feel so much stronger as a result. Additionally, I have several back issues and a neuroma in my foot, and with Kevin specializing in corrective exercise I feel confident in knowing he has all the appropriate "tools" to work with me without fear of injury. Bottom line, best decision ever. You will never regret the choice you make when you choose to work with Kevin for whatever your personal goals are.

Kevin Mefford In October 2015 had the very fortunate opportunity of meeting Kevin Mefford. He had come into my work to set up a boot camp for several of my co-workers. At the time had I had spent months going to doctors and physical therapy to try and solve the constant back pain I was experiencing. I had come to conclusion that a major 8 hour surgery was in the near future. I was told there were no options left. I decided to talk to Kevin while in our office about any personal training that might be able to help me. It was evident from those first few minutes that he had quite a knowledge of the back and how to he could assist me. He was very adamant that surgery was not my only option and offered to give me a free assessment. Yes, he acknowledged that sure I very well could have some congenital abnormalities but maybe it was some of my body mechanics that were exacerbating them. He was already working with other with back issues similar to mine and because he seemed very knowledgeable I had to give it a go. I set up an initial training session. What I didn’t expect was that before he met with me he immediately began researching my condition. It should be noted that I have been going to the gym for 38 years faithfully and I thought I surely knew more than he. From that first few minutes with him it was clear this man was dedicated and KNOWLEDGEBLE beyond his years and certainly knew more than I. The first few sessions were slower than I would like but it was clear he was paying great attention to detail. I quickly learned that my mechanics were actually causing my pain. From the way I stood, sat and everything in between I was not using my core muscles but relying on mostly my back. Heck he even told me how to get off the toilet. I know too much info but as I became conscious of all my motions I began to correct them a little each week. I now pay so much more attention to everything from carrying out the garbage, standing, getting in a car and sitting at my computer. It starts to become second nature. What has been the effect on my back? I am 90% better than I was just a few months ago. Oh and let’s not forget my waste is 2 inches smaller, arms and legs are toned and my body fat down 6%. I was supposed to have that surgery 2 days from now on June 17. Aside from the months of recovery and down time I am also not paying the $10,000 that would have been my share of the medical expenses. Wasn’t it better to spend the money on getting healthier rather than on a fix that may or may not work? I now work out completely different than I ever did before. It is with a sense of concentration and purpose that were instilled in me by Kevin. It’s interesting that the people I have been working out with at the same gym are noticing my new routine and starting to mimic my workouts. The weight I use is down 70% but the results are fantastic. Concentration certainly gives more results than crushing weights that make me do the exercise wrong and over compensate. Thank you Kevin for changing that mindset. Could there be more to this success story. Uh Yea!...its called balanced nutrition. Kevin also immediately began taking measurements and especially focused on what I ate. He contacts me every day just to see what I ate. And when I report I slipped just his ahhh man is enough to get me going again. Yes I considered dropping a barbell on him a couple of times but then who would inspire me. And just like the workouts he focused me on just making little changes over time. So much easier to do it gradually than a change in everything all at once. I feel like I am making changes that will stick with me for the rest of my life. That is my story but why should YOU consider using Kevin Mefford? Work out partners are great but are they as trained as someone who specializes in fitness? I have tried many trainers over the years. They are focused for the first few sessions and then they just go through the motions talking to others and looking at their phones. Kevin is focused, knowledgeable, dedicated and also makes it fun. I look forward to every session. And when you leave your session you know he is still there for you checking in each day and to keep you inspired. You not only get a great training session you get an advocate for your fitness each day. It’s not often in life we run in to someone as dedicated and sincere as this man. I first met Kevin through some folks in my office who had been working with him. He came and ran a boot camp for a group of my co-workers. He was able to organize two groups with varying levels. After a while, my fiancee and I started working with him preparing for our wedding. He's been able to be flexible with training programs and timing. He's very knowledgeable and loves his craft. He is constantly bringing in new techniques that he's recently studied. I would highly recommend Kevin as personal trainer no matter what your needs are. He started as my trainer and through our months of working together has become my friend. He truly and honestly cares about your progress.

Corrective training was perfect for my new back fusion. Kevin was meticulous with keeping my back neutral in all the exercises and the speed with which I recovered and rapid strength regained was amazing. I only wish I could work out with him permanently.

When I came to Kevin, we made a realistic personal goal . . . we're half way there. Kevin is hands above all the best trainer I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He holds me accountable for my choices and actions. Training is a very personal journey, and Kevin has made it very comfortable, successful, and fun. I have also learned a great deal from him; he is very educated and makes a great effort in continuing to grow in knowledge in every aspect of a healthy lifestyle, physical & mental health, for both men & women.
