Because of a mishap with my green card 31 years ago, I decided I would never get my citizenship, mostly out of fear of it being denied. I searched for an immigration attorney on and off for the past 31 years. Eventually, a relative recommended Birgitte Petersen, whose practice is in Georgia.
She is, by far, the most competent immigration attorney I know. She is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, organized, kind and incredibly accommodating. She is very prompt in answering phone calls and/or emails. Birgitte filled out all my paperwork, kept me informed of the process every step of the way, prepared me for the interview and drove all the way from GA to KY to attend the citizenship interview with me.
Thanks to Birgitte, I am now a naturalized citizen of the United States. Without any reservations, I highly recommend Birgitte and the Petersen Law Firm to anyone who is looking for an immigration attorney. Look no further, I can promise you will not be disappointed.

Birgitte handled my recent successful Naturalization application. Her calm approach and willingness to answer questions helped us review my application before submission and avoid any miscommunication with the USCIS. She prepared me for the interview including what we should expect at the field office, and then attended the interview and clarified any points with the USCIS agent due to her experience which I suspect the agent appreciated to keep the interview as short as possible (the field office is extremely busy). I would highly recommend Birgitte to anyone looking for an immigration attorney if they prefer personal service at a reasonable fee. She made my wife and I comfortable and confident that the process would be smooth and successful - which it was. I would recommend people use an attorney to complete the naturalization process even if they are a long time resident as I was. It is money well spent

My wife IR1 visa was denied at the US Embassy and the case was returned back to the USCIS office for over a year until I hired Birgitte to handle the case. Within 6 months USCIS reaffirmed the decision and 2 months later the US Embassy issued my wife her visa. I strongly recommend her service to anyone who needs legal service for immigration cases.
