He never showed up to do the work. Quick to take check to purchase materials and the assured us his schedule was open and available; then when they day came he never showed up. I spoke with and verified the night before and there was no mention of problems, got up early to 'meet' him at the unit as planned and after waiting 45 minutes called him to to see if there was a problem it goes to voicemail and then I receive a long drawn out text about how his work truck has had been in the shop and he doesn't have cash reserves and that there's no way for him to get to the unit (even though he picked up the check at my residential property in a hatchback SUV which would hold a toolbox one would think. But he says he'll be there the next morning no problem. The next day comes: no call, text or confirmation, same excuse says he will call but won't and only responds to texts after long delay for a guy who is not working as he says. He pushes my deadline days past since other contractors were called off because he said he would be there, costing me almost $200 dollars in pro-rated rent since my lease was up and he assured us he would have it done in one day before the months end. The carpet looks great at least so if nothing else use him for that. Ended up hiring another contractor because I didn't believe he would ever show up, always delayed and excuses. More than likely working other jobs that paid more or only interested in selling carpet. Don't waste your time

It is true that I didn't install the carpet, I was never informed of any deadline, I did have some unforseen issues but that's the way life works, Stephen got a super deal on his carpet and pad regardless, If getting carpet installed makes Stephen so mad I feel sorry for life's other challenges.

WARNING!!! Mr. Staff was the first to come give an estimate. He guarantees everything, has been in business for a long time, and seems eager to please his customers. Be warned the down on his luck, nice guy impression he leaves seems genuine. But I did not find that to be the case. I chose him because he was very detailed, explaining what he does, and seemed very genuine and proud of his work. He also came in much lower than the other quotes I received. He was supposed to start on Monday morning, however, he called and said the carpet was in, but still loaded on the truck and would not be unloaded until between 12-2pm. He was very apologetic, and assured me he would start first thing Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning he sent a text saying his truck broke down on the way to pick up the carpet, and he was having trouble finding a truck to rent.. He said UHaul wouldn't have the truck he needed until after 3pm. The he calls at 4:30 to tell me the carpet place is closed! Again, he was very apologetic, especially since my entire house was torn apart waiting for the carpet to be installed so we could put things back. We have now been living with the living/family room piled up with stuff for a week, during Thanksgiving week. But, I felt bad for him, and actually believed him, so I didn't give him a bad time even though I was extremely frustrated. Wednesday morning, I sent him a text at 8:15 and asked what time he would be here. He said he was at the carpet place picking up my carpet and would head right over, but, wouldn't answer back when I asked him how long it would take. At 11:15, 3 HOURS LATER, he showed up with one guy giving me excuses about how there were other people in front of him, then the freeway was shut down,...etc. He was supposed to install the based board too, but he needed to run to Home Depot to pick something up for my project. Because he said, once he starts he doesn't want to stop. Home Depot is 3 miles from my house. They left at 11:30 after unloading the carpet and pad in my garage, and never came back. Now, I can't park in my garage!! I called him after they were gone 90 minutes to see what the hold up was, but they did not answer. I sent him a text to let him know he had until 2 to contact me or I would hire someone else, NO ANSWER!! I gave him several opportunities to make this right, but he just blew it off every time. I'm not sure what's going on in his life that he treats people this way, but, customers BEWARE!!! I would NOT hire this guy!
