FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important for me to understand your goals with the project or service you are hiring a professional to execute. For any project--whether a resume, cover letter, social media or content for the web--I strive to make sure we are on the same page. A telephone call, online chat or email will get the ball rolling. While I will not continually reach out for guidance, I may need to connect over the course of a project in order to clarify or confirm information. Accuracy is credibility, so I want to be sure I have everything right. I may ask for additional details and information but I am also adept at doing my own research into a given subject area. When it comes to social media, I will ask questions about your audience and customers--or the audience and customers you hope to attract--and provide an overview of what I can do with a particular page, profile or platform. I am particularly skilled with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Let's WriteWell!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a journalist and journalism educator with more than 20 years experience, I can write, edit, research and advise on a wide range of content. In addition, I was an early adopter of social media for brands (and I use social media in my own professional work).
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Resume and cover letter: What do you want to accomplish? A basic resume and boilerplate cover letter are a start, and I can help you customize your materials for a particular job. Social media and web content: What are your goals? Are you aiming to establish a new brand or persona; increase reach and engagement; or, market a product? Once your pages are set up, how will you maintain them and gain momentum with your audiences and communities? Can you sustain your pages after they are set up, or will you require ongoing services?
