FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Once I have seen the project, I try to envision how long it will take me either solo or with a helper if needed. I estimate material needed plus 5% to 10% depending on the task and how far the nearest supplier is. Add it all together and possibly some negotiation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
"Typically" I like to take a good look at the requested task, get a good feel for it, and engage in small talk so that we get to know each other a little bit, maybe ease any tension there might be. Obviously every scenario is slightly different than the rest and many times this particular meet and greet isn't possible. No problem, I am flexible, understanding, and adaptable. If it isn't meant to be than it isn't.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
First of all I am good at math. Other than that, it has been all on the job training. Every day, just when I thought I figured it all out, I learn something else. I love it! and I have to make sure that I mention all my teachers or trades people that I have worked with. I would say that most of them weren't necessarily my trade but linked to it in some way or form.
