FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2006. In 2008 I became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Minnesota. My CPA license requires me to take a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every year.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone you can trust. Certified Public Accountants are required to pass rigorous exams as well as complete a minimum amount of continuing education. My state requires a minimum continuing education for CPAs of 120 hours every three years. In addition to a CPA certification, a tax professional should be able to explain things in an easy to understand format. If you can’t understand what they’re saying, then it doesn’t have any benefit to meet with them. Tax planning for the following year can be even more important than the preparation of the current year tax return.
