Introduction: Hi my name is Amber and I love food! I am a Portland native and graduate of George Fox University. As a biologist, singer, and chef my passion for exploring the senses is applied to the adventure of creating new and novelty dishes for all diets and devilish delights! The last 15 years have found me celebrating culture and the culinary arts. I owned and operated popular restaurants ranging from coffee shops to a very special and creative multicultural fusion style restaurant. Recently I have moved to the Salem area to be back in my home state of Oregon. Ponce Bistro, my highly successful restaurant, was recognized by the Boston Globe and The New York Times. The theme of the restaurant is recognized today as a Celebration of Culture and Food whereby we enriched the lives of the community with our events from Gypsy Jazz Festivals, hosting events for the Israel Congregation Synagogue, the sponsorship of the Southern Vermont Art Center and Manchester Music Festival with the Young Gifted Artists, our relationship with The Dorset Theater. My sister Wendi will send your tasebuds on a culinary escapade with her homemade breads and allergen free baked goods. She has spent the last 20 years serving her community and family with allergen free diets without compromising quality or flavor. If the Midnight Chocolate Fudge Cake shows up, hurry up! Our fabulous Chef Colleague, Sarah, participated in and won a community Iron Chef competition in Salem with her blackened salmon recipe! Our team provides a variety of flavor and charm of the Whisler Sisters experience. We are never afraid of a challenge and will also accommodate all diet needs without compromising quality or flavor. From the Northstar Ballroom to the Erath Winery and many affairs in between we specialize in customizing novel menus to impress on an affordable budget. From 5 guests to 500, your wish is our command!
I have self-diagnosed my passion for the culinary arts as food Attention Deficit Disorder. I am constantly creating new ideas and love the challenge of cooking and planning events for people to enjoy the full experience of food, culture and social events. In addition, I am obsessed with fashion, science, and well I'm a singing chef! At my restaurant I would regularly sing Jazz still wearing a chef coat. My life is a celebration of culture and food.
