FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There really is no "standard price" in lawn care. what I have found is the initial visit always has more work. Either they have not cut it recently or they have never had a lawn care provider. most of the time looking at the lawn I usually just put the price that I would normally cut it for as if I was maintaining it even if it is overgrown. but that is not always the case. There are lawns where the initial cut might be a little more expensive then the next following visits to keep it up. Depending on how thick the grass or the weeds are and the obstacles that are being moved around or going around all play a part in the price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I always meet them in person at their residence. But some customers are fine with me starting the job while they're not there and by the time they get home they contact me to schedule payment. I don't make anyone sign a contract and I never ask for money up front. even when offered I always tell them just give it to me at the end that way they can be satisfied before they pay.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Me and my wife are in our early 20s and have a son. Looking at where I was employed I saw no real opportunity for advancement. We both decided to take the risk on starting a lawn care company. We have both benefitted from the ups and the downs of this risk. The good comes with joy and the not so good comes with hope. But God has always been faithful to us. We continue to grow steadily and have high hopes for our future. As time goes by we find ourselves always happy we took this risk and continue to see the benefits of life changing decisions.
