Gad! This guy REALLY fixed my desk top, and then I gave him my lap top as the lap top was running slow... BOTH NOW are way, WAY faster than they were when out of the box NEW! Impressive! Steve should be your first call if you need help! You will be very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Communication was very prompt and excellent by telephone, text, or email. A completely crashed computer with encryption was saved. I had some very important data that was not properly backed up. Steve was able to recover the data! What a relief. Steve is a gem! I had a new all-in-one that needed to be set up. He was here when he said he would be and was professional, efficient and explained what was going on in language I could understand. After we set the appointment, I was reading emails when a virus popped up. I immediately stopped and waited for Steve. That was not the problem when I called for the appt, but when Steve arrived, he calmed me down and settled in and eliminated that virus and then proceeded to work his magic on the new all-in-one and checked over my entire system. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is often per-job regardless of how long it takes and is quoted up front. I haven't yet had a case where I had to charge the client more than originally quoted, although clients have often paid me more than the invoice total as a bonus. Corporate clients receive and hourly rate for more complex jobs.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I generally either meet on-site at their location or at a convenient location such as Coffee Bean. I usually prefer to have the computer overnight or longer so I can be as thorough as possible and don't have to rush.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?5 years at UCSD. Majored in Biology, minor in Psychology. Sometimes you need to know how to talk to computers. They have their own personality! Also taught staff education and extension courses at UCSD in programming and operating systems.
