This store just opened this month and is their 2nd location. The original store is still in Encinitas. Ironically I was originally planning on using another company in San Diego and found the wood I wanted at that store, but unfortunately the owner was slow to get a price quote to me. (as in 2 weeks slow)
I went to yelp's handy message system to send out a half dozen price quote requests which did not lead me to Floor Store... yet....it gets interesting. The flooring business is very competitive and when I did the yelp blast I got back a little more than I bargained for. Specifically one company told me that the floor I was choosing was "bad" and "Chinese made". That got me in a panic so I went searching for a different floor. After finding a different floor that looked great I tried to search reviews and out of the entire internet found one guy who wrote a yelp review in Northern California 2 years ago about his great experience with his installer. He mentioned that he installed the exact floor I wanted but he didn't comment on the floor. Since two years had passed I knew he would be perfect to reach out to via yelp and get his opinion. He answered in about 15 minutes that when he dropped his ipad on the floor it dented it right away and even though he liked the look, he would not recommend to anyone with kids or pets.
Simultaneously I heard from the same guy who told me my 1st floor was a bad choice and he told me my 2nd floor was bad too! Finally put 2 and 2 together that he just didn't carry these products and wanted me to come into his store. That realization got me to thinking about the 1st floor that I really liked. I decided to send an email directly to the flooring rep at Mamre in L.A. They emailed me right away addressing my concerns. Then they referred me to Floor Store in Point Loma.
I called and even though I had already had the room measured they came out with the two samples I was considering and re-measured. Mandy was extremely professional and nice. She told me that they install the mamre floors all the time and they are very popular. That further eased my mind. Plus, I knew that they had a good relationship with the distributor which seems important when you are making such a large investment.
I got a competitive quote from them and they were able to set up installation right away. I was blown away when 5 guys showed up to install the floors. The room was almost 550esf and they got it done in less than a day. The floors were installed on a diagonal which takes a lot more time too. Since the floors are light there were a few areas of glue residual but Beth came out right away with solvent and personally wiped up the glue (which was kind of hard to see depending on the light as these are lighter floors too). Every person I met was not only friendly but very professional. I liked them so much I had Beth take measurements of some other rooms for future projects. It's hard to find solid trustworthy businesses like this. P.S.....I love my new floors!

Great service and follow up throughout the project- that was very detailed, customized and so pleasant. Wonderful craftsmanship with wood and carpet installation. I highly recommend Floor Store!

The Floor Store was absolutely fantastic. They took care of everything involved in our carpet install on Point Loma, while we remained afar in Los Angeles. The carpet was installed professionally, and resulted in us get several offers for our property. Thanks so much for making the process flawless.
