Introduction: I have been an SAT tutor since 2012 and love to help students identify where they excel and struggle, and then build a program to improve in the more difficult areas. I tailor my tutoring to each individual student and focus on core skills that can apply to almost any problem on the test, as well as sharing tips and techniques for answering the trickier questions. When it comes to the SAT, knowing the test is just as important as having the skills. So in addition to time spent tutoring, I like to give students practice questions to do that we can review at the beginning of the next session. Applying to colleges is one of the most exciting and stressful times for teenagers and their families. I love helping students to prepare for the SAT, graduate with their best GPA, and perfect college applications to get into their dream schools.

Brooklyn helped my son with general middle school math and English tutoring over the past year and she has been a pleasure to work with. She is always prepared and has a multi-faceted approach to tutoring, so when one technique for learning didn't work for my son she was able to teach it another way until he understood it. I would be comfortable with her tutoring him in any subject, as his grades have gone up and she has been a great mentor helping him to refocus on school and reach his full potential. Brooklyn also helped him prepare to take the PSAT and he received recognition for his scores from the Duke TIP talent search program. We have loved working with her and it has been worth every penny!

We hired Brooklyn to help our daughter prepare for her SAT exams. We only had two months to prep so she came to our house for tutoring three times a week. Every time she showed up prepared, punctual, with new material to cover, and eager to teach. We could tell right away that she really knows her stuff, and she knows all of the tricks on the exam too. Summer really enjoyed studying with Brooklyn and she had excellent communication skills. As parents we were thrilled with the results.. Summer raised her score 230 points on her SAT exam!! Now that Summer has the scores she needs, we are working with Brooklyn for help in the college application process. I highly recommend working with her!!

Brooklyn worked with my daughter on the SAT2 specifically with math. She would prepare my daughter weekly for their time by sending her info & homework. She would schedule directly with my daughter and maintained my daughters focus & built her confidence in her math skill. We don't have the new score yet, but my daughter felt better with math this time and we hope her score improved. Overall, we would recommend Brooklyn!

Pricing fluctuates based on packages. We can discuss pricing during the free consultation and find a package that works for your budget. Most families see a huge return on the investment in college prep in the form of scholarship offers.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First and foremost I want to get to know my students. In the first FREE tutoring session I identify what their challenges are, what makes them feel confident, their learning style, and what interests them. This allows me to build a personalized tutoring plan to ensure the student benefits as much as possible from our time spent studying together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. in Communication Studies, English (minor in Political Science) + 8 years of tutoring experience
